That I found them interesting doesn't mean that I necessarily agree with or endorse all of the ideas presented in the posts, but that I found them to be thought-provoking. They may benefit you as you prayerfully consider your area of shepherding and stewardship, which has been given to you in trust by the Lord. (They are listed in no particular order of interest.) Please post your comments to discuss any article that strikes your interest. If you have any recent blog posts that you would like to nominate, please send the link and your reasons for nominating that post to .

The Lord's Day

Taigen Joos has written a number of really great articles over at Religious Affections regarding the importance of corporate worship. Kamloops Christians, understand: your presence in church on Sunday is a critical testimony to your neighbors and the world around you. If you're a regular reader of this blog or a regular listener to our Ministry of the Word, please understand that God's desire is for you to be involved in corporate worship on Sundays. Read these posts, and know that God wants you to be involved in church on Sundays.

The Lord’s Day, part 1

Unfortunately, in the unending pursuit of getting things done, we can very easily diminish or even dismiss the importance of the corporate worship of God’s people on Sunday.

Bible

These are a few posts that I've collected together to show the need for Scriptures in our lives. There is no doubt that we must hear the Word of God, for we must know Him, understand Him, trust Him, and obey Him. None of this can be accomplished apart from His Word, and there are far too many churches in Kamloops endeavoring to know Him without hearing Him speak.

America's Bible Hypocrisy: Study Shows Disconnect Between Beliefs and Behavior

This is a sad but present preality. How often I encounter individuals from other "churches" in Kamloops who openly acknowledge that their "church" does not follow the Scriptures, yet they seem to think that there is nothing drastically wrong with this. It moves beyond just not preaching the Word. There are a few churches around town who embrace ungodly and unbiblical forms of discipleship (which is bad enough in itself), but then twist and distort the Scriptures in order to make their systems of discipleship believable (which is way, way worse). This is sinister to the Lord. If only a few more of the "believers" in those churches would pause to read their Bible and believe it... Sigh.

A majority of people in the United States believe the Bible contains the best advice for a meaningful life, but they also don't want to take it, and are too busy to read the scriptures.

Courage in the Ordinary

This is a great article on the need to obey in the small things as the great act of courageous faithfulness to God.

Everydayness is my problem. It’s easy to think about what you would do in wartime, or if a hurricane blows through, or if you spent a month in Paris, or if your guy wins the election, or if you won the lottery or bought that thing you really wanted. It’s a lot more difficult to figure out how you’re going to get through today without despair. —Rod Dreher

Seven Ways for Busy Moms to Get in the Word

Fall is almost here, and for most moms this is the beginning of the busiest season of the year. Back-to-school to-do lists lead right into Thanksgiving and Christmas to-do lists, and we will not find rest again until January 2nd. And while God’s word sits on our shelves waiting for us to get a slow moment, the world bids us to keep busy.

People & Faithfulness

People need Jesus. So the question is, "How will we bring the Gospel to the ears of those who need Him without speaking to them about Him?" We must speak. There is no other way. These articles are posted for your consideration with a view to making you a better evangelist.
