That I found them interesting doesn't mean that I necessarily agree with or endorse all of the ideas presented in the posts, but that I found them to be thought-provoking. They may benefit you as you prayerfully consider your area of shepherding and stewardship, which has been given to you in trust by the Lord. (They are listed in no particular order of interest.) A Christian Mind

J.P. Moreland: “’I want to develop a Christian mind, but I don’t know how.’ This attitude is both common and understandable. That we are to develop our minds as Christians is not in doubt. We are admonished to love God with our mind (Mt 22:37), be transformed by its renewal (Rm 12:2), and be prepared to give thoughtful answers to questions about the faith (1 Pt 3:15).”

Broken Vows, Broken World

“For months following my divorce, it felt like I was wearing a scarlet “D” on my chest in church. I imagine it’s somewhat like walking into a prosperity-gospel church with holes in my clothes and a case of the measles. Throughout the year the Dictionary staff track words using all kinds of interesting means and in November they narrow in on a few for special consideration. A final selection team is made up of lexicographers and consultants to the dictionary team, and editorial, marketing, and publicity staff. This year, all of that effort led to this word: Selfie.

From Laziness to Diligence

This article from Biblical Counseling Coalition accurately diagnoses laziness. However, it is a bit lackluster when it comes to prescribing a remedy. I don't think "try harder," or "do more!" is the remedy. The root of diligence comes from somewhere else besides personal self effort. But where? Click the next article link to find out. :)

The Spiritual Discipline that Impacts Everything

I am routinely maligned for my participation in this particular spiritual discipline. However, I am and continue to be a relentless advocate of the following spiritual discipline, engaging in this particular discipline both individually, corporately and even inter-denominationally. Working through this spiritual discipline with people both inside and outside your church brings fruit. I insist that it be pursued to its uttermost. I am convinced that what follows leads to every other good thing. This is the root of every good fruit for the Christian.

"...but there is one spiritual discipline that increases activity in every other spiritual discipline. And that spiritual discipline is ongoing engagement with _________?"
