Romans

What to do with a Guilty Conscience?

Multitudes today respond to their conscience by attempting to suppress it, overrule it, or silence it. They conclude that the real blame for their wrong behavior lies in some childhood trauma, societal pressures, or other causes beyond their control. Or they convince themselves that their "struggle" or “issue” is a clinical problem, not a moral one—and therefore, they define their drug addiction, alcoholism, sexual immorality, or other vices as “diseases,” rather than calling them sins. To respond to the conscience by silencing or suppressing it is a catastrophic disaster.

But what about those who have dealt honestly with their sins, trusted in Jesus for forgiveness yet are still haunted by their conscience? Join us today as we consider Paul's appeal in Romans 2:11-16.
