Children's Ministry

At First Baptist Church, we value children and family. Taking seriously the Scriptural commands to teach the next generation, caring for the young ones in our midst and equipping parents to fulfill their God-given role as teacher and trainer is a top priority for us. This is why you'll find First Baptist Church to be a great family atmosphere, striving to build cross-generational relationships and embracing families of all shapes and sizes.

Sunday worship services will include childcare for babies through PreK. You are welcome to drop your littles off prior to the beginning of the service or at any point in the service.  We also have a "child-parent" overflow room for those who need a space to remain with their children while participating in the worship service and sermon (such as nursing babes or children with sensory needs). 

Sunday School is offered during the worship service! Classes are divided into nursery, preschool, Kindergarten-grade 1, and grade 2-3. Follow the signs or ask an usher to help you find the classes for your family. 

In all these children's ministry activities, we enlist volunteers who have undergone criminal record checks, training, and agreement to our children's ministry policies. These policies include making every effort to have two volunteers with the children at all times, washroom guidelines, check-in/check-out procedures, and providing a nut-free environment (further details on policies can be obtained by speaking with the Sunday School Coordinator or an Elder, and additional accommodations can be made for any unique allergy, health, or safety concerns for your child).

Above all else, the children's ministry of First Baptist Church desires to build authentic relationships with your family as we do life together and walk alongside each other in the journey of growing in Christ-likeness
