Isaiah 9:1-7
Not Home Yet

This Sunday we're diving into Isaiah 9:1-7 and discovering a powerful truth that encourages us in our struggle.

In every human conflict, military commanders know: "the enemy gets a vote," a comment about the fog of war that arises when contact with the enemy brings complications and unexpected set-backs. But Isaiah announces something unprecedented - a cosmic battle where the enemy is forever overthrown.

When the prophet declared "to us a child is born, to us a son is given," he wasn't describing a polite religious transaction. He was announcing an INVASION - heaven breaking into enemy-occupied territory through the most unlikely weapon imaginable: the birth of a baby, the gift of a son.

Against the backdrop of Assyrian terror and seemingly hopeless darkness, God's answer wasn't superior military technology or political alliances. It was the gift of a child who would bear names no human ruler could legitimately claim: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

The darkness may seem to be winning. The enemy is working to bring despair, division, and defeat. But the decisive victory has already been won by the One whose government increases without end.

Follow along as we discover how to live as people who know the outcome of the war - even when the battles rage around us.
