Top Blog Posts of the Week 6/23/2012

Posted by Joshua Claycamp on

This is a list of recent blog posts which I found interesting. That I found them interesting doesn’t mean I necessarily agree with or endorse all of the ideas presented in the posts, but that I found them to be intriguing and thought-provoking. They may benefit you as you prayerfully consider your area of shepherding and stewardship, which has been given to you in trust by the Lord. (They are listed in no particular order of interest.) Please post your comments to discuss  any article that strikes your interest. If you have recent blog posts to nominate, please send the link and your reasons for nominating that post to .

Ministry Can Be Dangerous

Ephesians 4 makes it clear that ministry is not properly the exclusive domain of the pastor. Everyone is called to do ministry both within and without the body. Why don't more Christians engage in ministry? Could it be that we sense how dangerous ministry can be? Dr. Keller does a great job offering practical advice.

Five Obstacles Facing Small Groups

Small groups are critical! Christians are not stewarding their time well if they are not making time to grow in their walk with Jesus and other believers through small groups. It isn't in the corporate gathering of worship every week that you develop those concrete life-long bonds. It is in the small group or Life Group where these bonds happen. You should be involved in one, and you should be aware of the difficulty involved in forming true Christian fellowship. It's not about teaching, it's about learning! See also, Five Benefits of Small Groups, and the Five Myths Facing Small Groups.

9 Links on Forgiveness

We should learn about giving mercy as well as knowing how to forgive. This can be difficult for all of us at times. Here are nine links on forgiveness.

Rebuilding a Healthy Schedule

If you don't have time to be involved in a Life Group or attend Worship every week, then something is wrong. You are not controlling your schedule, you are being controlled by it. Pause for a moment, ask God's forgiveness, and take your schedule by the horns so you can prioritize those things that are important to Him!

That's it for this week! Be sure to steward those things that God has entrusted to you!
